Jessica's White Muslin Dress

Jessica’s White Muslin Dress
This was a fun simple dress that took me a couple days to make. The inspiration for this dress came from the painting, Dismissal of School on an October Afternoon, 1845 by Henry Inman. I have a print of this panting in the book The Great Boston Collectors: Paintings from the Museum of Fine Arts.
I came up with the pattern using a fitted bodice my sister had.   After making allowance for gathers and some other minor changes I had the bodice pattern. The Bodice is gathered in the front and back and has a pair of gathered sleeves. The skirt is cartridge pleated and has a few tucks at the bottom.
