Brown Silk Quilted Petticoat 1840's
This brown silk quilted petticoat skirt is from the 1840's is all hand stitched and made of a chocolate brown silk fabric. The waist treatment is cartridge pleating. It has a decorative hand quilted striped scalloped design along the bottom done in tiny even stitches. This wonderful winter petticoat has a full hoop skirt, is fully lined with a polished brown cotton fabric and has a wide linen waistband that someone has added a gray linen tie back closure. The petticoat measures 38 inches long, with an adjustable 30 inch waist.
